Don’t You Love Me? (James, Little Hanna, & Big Hanna) (PART II)

Carrying the boy downstairs was easy enough; it was a good thing he was so small and light. James laid him down on an old wire bed-frame and set the stuffed bear beside him. He sat next to him silently and watched Hanna snap out of the spell he’d been under.

“Hanna,” he said. “The kitten’s in the other room. But Hanna, there’s something we need to talk about first, okay?” He ran a loving hand through the boy’s thick red locks of hair.

“You love me, don’t you, Hanna?”

Hanna’s body bobbed as his father carried him down the basement stairs. He wasn’t scared in the least, he felt safe in his father’s arms. The magic on Hanna’s hand only made him woozy; he wouldn’t have known it was the magic making him feel this way—he figured he had gotten a little too excited for his own good.

The wire bed-frame was uncomfortable and cold. The moldy smell of the basement and the softness of the bear placed beside him both served to rouse him from his dizziness.

“Oh…he’s in the other room…? ‘Kay…” Hanna moved to sit up but was greeted with a heavy hand that pushed him back down.

Hanna nodded at the question and smiled. “Yeah. I love you lots and lots. I love you more than anything.”

James laughed at the bundle of energy bouncing before him. “Well, aren’t you a little spitfire tonight?” He ruffled his son’s hair lovingly, then knelt down to his level.

“Hanna, I have a surprise for you. It’s waiting for you in the basement.” He smiled warmly at the boy. “I think you’re gonna love him.”

Did he just say…

Him?!” Hanna gasped. “Is…Is it a kitty? Ohmygosh I thought you didn’t like kitties and I was worried because I like them a-and I think it’d be real neat if we had one!” He couldn’t control himself, he was just so excited about the possibility of having a kitten. “Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!” He squealed happily.

“Uh, heh, yep! He’s really young and he’s so soft.” James replied with a grin. “But you have to really calm down or else he’ll be too scared to play. Here, this’ll help.”

Hanna’s father pulled a thick black marker from his pocket. He gently grabbed the child’s hand and drew a symbol on it. The boy began to sway on his feet; he fell over but James caught him. He hoisted his son up into his arms and headed to the basement stairs. He descended the staircase and swung the door shut behind them.

On the way home, James thought to stop at a general store; it wouldn’t be much of a surprise for the boy if he came home empty-handed. He picked up a stuffed bear and some candy for his son.

James pulled into the driveway and killed the engine. He tucked his blade away, then grabbed Hanna’s presents and headed indoors. The child hadn’t heard him come in, which gave him the opportunity to take the surprises downstairs to the basement. Several minutes later, James ascended the stairs and called up to Hanna. “Hey, buddy! I’m home!”

When Hanna heard the message left by his dad, he scurried upstairs and danced around with Terry excitedly. Hanna loved surprises, and he wondered what it might be. He thought of chocolate cake and kitties; he thought of his mother.

He perked up at the sound of his dad’s voice. “C-Coming!” His little legs couldn’t clear the stairs fast enough. If he hadn’t been holding onto the banister, he would’ve fallen down the stairs. Hanna stood in front of his dad and jumped up and down excitedly. “Hi!”

James laughed at the bundle of energy bouncing before him. “Well, aren’t you a little spitfire tonight?” He ruffled his son’s hair lovingly, then knelt down to his level.

**An OOC Warning**

You may want to unfollow mr-cross, eye-of-the-city, dinosaursaresocool, and falkinghannacross temporarily if you do not want to read about a restrained child and some pretty extreme gore. Well, it may not be extreme. There will be gore.

As a disclaimer, Little Hanna will NOT be harmed.

((I suppose I should have mentioned there is a little bit of gore in that. Oops.))

I’m Doing This Because I Love You (one-shot)

To say James was anxious wasn’t precisely accurate. It was more of an obsession brewing deep within him, a desperate madness which had been curing since he’d returned home to his son.

During the day, James hadn’t been going to work. While Hanna was left alone, the man would be in the outskirts of the city, preparing for the single biggest moment of his life. Without the guidance he had relied upon, James had to figure out how to gather what he needed while staying under the radar. He needed things to be precise. He needed all the ingredients.

He needed bodies.

mr-cross replied to your post: My son tells me you’d like to have him over for dinner? I’m sorry, but he can’t join you today.

Because I’m his father and what I say goes.

Kinda controlling, 8n’tcha?

Or is this another instance of ‘Let’s not trust the gray-skinned, horned girl’????????

He has been running off without asking. It’s dangerous. I’m punishing him for it.

…Yeah I can see that, 8ut isn’t that a little harsh on him? He’s pro8a8ly excited to come see the new kitty and Lamont. ::::T

If he behaves tonight, he can visit tomorrow. How does that sound?
